The Arab Federation of Travel and Tourism Agents: An Ambitious Vision to Regulate the Market and Promote Fair Competition

The travel and tourism agents sector is one of the cornerstones of the air transport and tourism industries, directly contributing to facilitating passenger traffic and strengthening local and regional economies. Despite its importance, this sector faces significant challenges related to market regulation, standardization, protecting customer rights, and enhancing coordination among relevant stakeholders. To address these challenges and enhance Arab integration in the field of travel and tourism, especially in light of estimates indicating the presence of approximately 30,000 to 40,000 travel and tourism agencies across all Arab countries without a unified entity, the idea of establishing the “Arab Federation of Travel and Tourism Agents” emerged as an official umbrella to regulate this sector at the Arab level.
