The Higher Ministerial Committee for Combating Epidemics discusses additional measures to combat Corona

The Higher Ministerial Committee for Combating Epidemics, in its meeting headed by Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh Habtoor, discussed the level of implementing the precautionary measures to confront the Corona pandemic, especially in the field.
The meeting reviewed the additional precautionary measures that should be approved to enhance the level and size of the governmental preventive measures and steps approved in the past weeks to face any emergency related to the Corona virus and focus on strengthening the health and preventive components in the various outlets and continuing to provide the necessary humanitarian needs for those quarantined.
The reports of a number of members of the committee were heard on the progress of field missions and the observations that were recorded in the framework of the evaluation of the extent of cooperation and commitment of the various central and local authorities to the announced precautionary measures and measures, including the extent of society’s awareness of the importance of those measures that came mainly for its safety and avoiding the risks resulting from this. The virus that is currently sweeping all countries of the world and has led to the deaths of tens of thousands, infecting more than a million and a half people and causing complete paralysis in various aspects of life.
The committee examined the health and security risks arising from the continued influx of illegal immigrants from the Horn of Africa in light of the Corona pandemic and the aggression that the country is exposed to and the necessary coordination with the International Organization for Migration to return them to their countries in view of the exceptional conditions in Yemen.
The committee stood in front of smuggling operations from a number of ports to free governorates and the direct risk this behavior carries to the life and safety of the Yemeni people in the event that those infected with the Corona virus are smuggled, God forbid.
In this regard, the Supreme Committee stressed the referral of those who were found involved in smuggling and the persons with them to the Criminal Prosecution in preparation for trial, imprisonment and fines in accordance with the law, and granting a financial reward to all who arrest them.
The committee emphasized the implementation of the records approved by the Ministry of Transport and other relevant authorities regarding the exclusion of ships carrying basic materials and goods from staying in the diving for a period of 14 days and allowing them to enter the port of Hodeidah immediately upon their arrival provided that their crews are subject to quarantine on board and that the competent authority The process of sterilizing the surface of the ship and the goods before unloading them to the docks.
The committee also affirmed its previous decision to exclude locomotives carrying goods from precautionary measures and to allow them to enter the free governorates without hindrance and that specialists subject their drivers in case of suspicion to examination and quarantine if necessary.
In the meeting, it was emphasized that the capital’s secretary and the governors of governorates should carry out their responsibility towards removing qat markets from the cities to their suburbs and taking into account the preventive health requirements that regulate these markets, while stressing the personal responsibility of the capital and governors to implement this decision because of its positive impact on the health and safety of citizens.
The Higher Ministerial Committee for Combating Epidemics recorded its thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the ministries of public health, population, water, environment, transport, local administration, media, industry, trade, interior, intelligence agency, and the central operations room at the Prime Ministry in the context of implementing and following up on decisions, procedures, and governmental precautionary measures established in the face of the Corona pandemic.
She emphasized that all ministries, government institutions and the local authority are concerned with defending the lives of citizens and protecting them from this pandemic.
The committee appealed to the citizens to absorb the risks that threaten their lives in the event that God forbid, any infection with this virus was recorded and the necessity of staying in their homes and not going out except for the necessity and observance of the obligation to wash their hands with soap and water and the continuous sterilization of them with the killer antiseptics of the virus.
