The joint campaign to remove slums from the capital’s streets continues

 

The joint field campaign to implement the traffic matrix, control traffic flow, and remove slums, unsightly structures, and causes of traffic congestion from the capital’s streets continued for the second consecutive day.

On its second day, the campaign, implemented by the Traffic Police, the Public Works Office, and the Cleanliness Fund and Project, aimed to remove unsightly structures, slums, and dilapidated vehicles from the streets of Khawlan, Al-Huthaili Markets, Al-Hindwana, Dar Salam, Shamila, Al-Zahrawi, and Taiz Street.

Over the course of two days, the campaign resulted in the removal of 64 dilapidated and junk vehicles after notifying their owners of their removal. It also resulted in the removal of more than 350 stalls and carts belonging to street vendors from the middle of main streets and sidewalks and their relocation to designated locations within the markets.

It also resulted in the removal of more than 84 tons of dirt and waste, the collection of 52 pledges from the owners of the violating stalls, the issuance of eight notices to the violating establishments, and the reopening of a number of closed streets.

The directors of the Public Works Office in the capital, Engineer Abdul Salam Al-Jaradi, the cleaning project manager Ibrahim Al-Sarabi, and the traffic police of the capital, Colonel Najib Al-Asadi, explained that the campaign, which includes equipment, leaders, and cadres from the traffic police, public works, and cleaning departments in the capital, will continue until all streets included in the traffic procedures matrix are targeted to remove slums, street vendors, and cars.

They emphasized that the campaign is being implemented in implementation of the directives of the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and the Capital Secretariat, with the participation of various concerned authorities, to remove and remove slums and violations that are a source of waste accumulation, debris, and epidemics, ensuring the preservation of the aesthetic and civilized appearance of the capital, Sana’a.

They pointed out that the campaign has succeeded in reopening a number of streets that had been closed for years and has received widespread interaction and satisfaction from citizens, who expressed their gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and the Capital Secretariat for their efforts and commitment to ensuring the safety and property of citizens and reducing traffic accidents.
