The Minister of Transport & Public Works and the Governor of Hodeidah inspect the progress of work on the rehabilitation of the “Sham Road”

The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, and the Governor of Hodeidah, Abdullah Otayfi, today inspected the progress of work on the maintenance project for the “Sham Road”, which extends from the May 22 roundabout in Hodeidah city to Al-Zaydiyah district.
Qahim and Otayfi listened to an explanation from stakeholders in the Public Works Sector and the Road Maintenance Fund about the progress of the project, which includes the restoration of damaged asphalt, filling potholes, and filling cracks, contributing to the rehabilitation of this vital road linking several districts.
The Minister of Transport and Public Works emphasized the importance of the project in strengthening the road network infrastructure in Hodeidah, improving traffic flow between districts, and reducing traffic accidents resulting from road deterioration.
He pointed out that the Ministry attaches special importance to road maintenance and rehabilitation projects, considering them a development priority that touches the lives of citizens and contributes to supporting the service and economic sectors.
For his part, the Governor of Hodeidah indicated that the ongoing maintenance work on the “Sham Road” is part of ongoing efforts to rehabilitate vital roads according to a comprehensive plan.
He emphasized the local authority’s commitment to overcoming any difficulties impeding the implementation of service projects, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, to contribute to improving the level of services.
