The Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation and the General Authority for Maritime Affairs organized a speech event at the port of Hodeidah on Sunday, 4 Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH (October 26, 2025 AD) to commemorate the annual Martyr’s Day for the year 1447 AH.
During the event, the First Deputy Governor, Ahmed Al-Bishri, considered the commemoration of this great anniversary a renewal of the pledge of loyalty and a reaffirmation of the pledge to follow in the footsteps of the righteous martyrs who carried the banner of victory and pride, sacrificing their pure souls in defense of religion, homeland, and the dignity of the nation, and upholding the values of freedom, sovereignty, and pride.
He pointed out that the pure blood of the martyrs has shaped the features of a proud, free, and independent homeland—the homeland of September 21, which broke the shackles of guardianship, thwarted projects of hegemony and subjugation, and paved the nation’s path to pride, dignity, and complete sovereignty on land, sea, and air.
Al-Bishri praised the legendary steadfastness demonstrated by the workers and employees of the Red Sea Ports, whose sacrifices and resilience embodied the spirit of the free and proud Yemeni people who will not bow or submit, no matter the threats. He emphasized that the port of Hodeidah, with its heroic workers, has remained a resilient economic front since the beginning of the aggression in 2015, a symbol of steadfastness in the face of the most brutal forms of targeting.
He noted that many of the martyrs who ascended in the battle of the promised conquest and the holy jihad were sons of the ports, drivers and workers who remained steadfast in their positions with faith and determination, undeterred by bombs and raids. With their pure blood, they wrote the brightest pages of heroism and sacrifice in the history of the nation.
For his part, the Vice Chairman of the Ports Corporation, Mr. Nasr Abdullah Al-Nusairi, expressed his pride in the righteous martyrs who ascended in the path of God, defending the land, honor, and sovereignty, immortalizing their names in the brightest pages of glory and dignity.
He emphasized that the annual commemoration of the martyrs is a school of faith and jihad, inspiring the spirit of steadfastness, sacrifice, and giving, and providing the martyrs with the meanings of determination and resolve to continue the path they have taken until victory is achieved.
Al-Nusairi pointed out that the raids on the Red Sea ports by the Zionist entity confirm that the enemy does not want Yemen to stand on its feet, but it has overlooked the fact that the people of Yemen are too strong to be broken or terrorized.
He explained that the foundation will remain committed to its rights and will continue to perform its duty with firm faith and unwavering resolve, in loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs and loyalty to the Yemeni people.
For his part, Sheikh Ali Somal, head of the Scholars Unit in the governorate, pointed out that Yemen has offered the best of its sons as martyrs in the face of the most powerful modern weapons, and, thanks to God and the determination of its men, has been able to overcome the forces of aggression that have conspired against it from every direction.
He emphasized that God Almighty chose Yemeni blood to be a fundamental partner to Palestinian blood in the nation’s great battle to liberate Holy Jerusalem. The Battle of Tufan al-Aqsa was a shining page in the history of Yemeni honor, in which Yemeni heroes participated in great heroic deeds, and dozens of the finest mujahideen were martyred in the path of God and in defense of the oppressed.
The event, which was attended by officials and employees of the Ports and Maritime Affairs Department, included expressive chants and poems.
