The Yemeni Society for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind Honors the Governor of the Central Bank

 

The Yemeni Society for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind today honored the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Hashim Ismail, in recognition of his interest in the blind and his commitment to including Braille printing on the new 200-riyal banknote, making it easier for the blind to recognize and use.

The honoring ceremony was attended by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Bajaala; the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim; the Executive Director of the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund, Dr. Ali Mughli; the President of the National Union of Associations for the Disabled, Abdullah Baniyan; and the President of the Yemeni Society for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind, Abdulaziz Balhaj.

They presented the shield and certificate of appreciation to the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank for Revenue Affairs, Amin Al-Mutawakil, on behalf of the Governor.

١The association commended the Central Bank’s initiative, considering it a qualitative step towards achieving financial inclusion by addressing the needs of all segments of society, most notably the visually impaired.
