Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation denies the aggression’s allegations regarding Hodeida port

Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation completely and strongly denied the validity of the allegations made by the official spokesman of the coalition in his recent statements about the use of the Hodeida port as a base for launching any military actions.

The Corporation expressed its strong condemnation for the repeated scenario used by the aggression and its tools through its media spokesman by inserting the port of Hodeida in the conflict and use it as an excuse and make it a legitimate target in its hostile policy against the Yemeni people.

The Corporation confirmed in a statement issued today that the port of Hodeida is subject to continuous UN visits and abides by all international marine requirements and codes and procedures followed in international ports and has nothing to do with any conflicts and the port of Hodeida is completely empty of any armed appearance, military barracks or stores for assembling weapons and launching gunboats.

The statement pointed out that the threats issued by the aggression to target the port of Hodeida is consider as a preliminary explicit and dangerous step and will have catastrophic consequences for the region and will cause great harm to the living condition of the Yemeni people, who depend on Hodeida port mainly to supply them with relief, medicine and oil requirements.

The Corporation notes that the aggression must be well aware that targeting civilian ports is a violation of international humanitarian law and recognized international covenants, including the four Geneva Conventions and the protocols attached to them, which criminalize targeting vital facilities that are indispensable to people, such as ports and economic facilities, as they are among the civilian objects that are prohibited from being targeted. These types of crimes are considered war crimes of the first degree, and crimes against humanity that will never be forgotten over times.

The Port’s statement renewed its call to the international community to do its responsibilities towards the Yemeni people to alleviate the human suffering experienced by the Yemeni people for seven years, which has escalated in an unprecedented way in the world during the recent period, and to deal with the economic situation with the required seriousness, and to oblige the aggression to fully lift the siege, and stop using the economy as a means of pressure and bargaining, and the separation of the human side from the political and military side.
