A meeting at the Red Sea Ports Corporation to discuss the projects agreed upon with the United Nations

The CEO of the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, Captain Mohammed Ishaq, discussed with the United Nations Development Program Deputy Resident Representative for Operations Affairs, Mr. Mulugata Abebe, today, aspects related to the agreed project matrix to provide the corporation’s needs.

The meeting, which included the director of the program office in Hodeidah, Hema Khadka, touched on the challenges and procedures regarding what was agreed upon with the UNDP to implement these projects, especially with regard to providing the needs of the port of Hodeidah in terms of development projects, maintenance of boats, equipment and machinery, and supplying it with bridge cranes.

Captain Ishaq reviewed the efforts made by the Foundation and the liaison team with the Development Program in the procedures related to that matrix, with the aim of accelerating the provision of the agreed upon projects to restore the activity of the port of Hodeidah as required.

He stressed the importance of the development program playing a more effective role for the speedy implementation of these projects in accordance with the chronic implementation plan of the work matrix to translate the Stockholm Agreement into restoring what was destroyed by the aggression in the port of Hodeidah.

In turn, the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program for Operations Affairs explained that the program is committed to its promises in implementing priority projects in the port of Hodeidah and searching for funds for the remaining projects, pointing out that the program will start to accelerate the implementation of what was agreed upon with the Red Sea Ports Corporation.

The meeting was attended by the liaison team with UNDP, the directors of the office of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Nabil Al-Majaji, projects and engineering supervision, Eng. Sami Maqbouli, marine operations, Captain Muhammad Al-Sayes, procurement Ahmed Salem, safety and industrial security Bandar Shara, and follow-up Ibrahim Ishaq.
