A meeting headed by Al-Junaid discusses the procedures for treating the lands of the Taiz Airport campus

A meeting in Taiz Governorate, headed by Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs Mahmoud Al-Junaid, discussed the procedures and controls to ensure the treatment of the lands of the Taiz Airport campus.

The meeting, in the presence of Transport Minister Amer Al-Marani, Taiz Governor Salah Bajash, Ansar Allah official Abdullah Al-Nawari, and Director of the Airports Sector at the General Authority of Yemeni Aviation and Meteorology Amin Jamaan, touched on issues related to the service and technical aspects of the airport.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs pointed to the importance of everyone’s cooperation to address issues that serve the governorate, including the problem of the airport campus lands, which are trying to disrupt its missions and navigational services

He pointed to the keenness to rehabilitate Taiz Airport as a national and strategic gain, noting the participation of representatives of landowners in the meeting to come up with a vision that contributes to addressing this problem in a way that serves the public interest.

For his part, the Minister of Transport affirmed the keenness of the state and the government to take care of the citizen and protect his rights, pointing out that the airport is a vital facility that provides services to Taiz and neighboring governorates.

“There are international technical requirements for the airport, like other airports, in a way that does not conflict with the navigational movement,” he said, stressing the importance of everyone’s cooperation to address the airport problem.

In turn, the Governor of Taiz considered holding the meeting a positive step to translate the orientations of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council and their interest in addressing issues of concern to the governorate.

He said, “The issue of Taiz Airport has burdened the citizen and has not been resolved for years,” pointing to the importance of developing treatments that guarantee the right of the public interest and the rights of the citizen, taking into account the technical aspects of the airport.

The Director of the Airports Sector at the General Aviation Authority, Amin Jamaan, reviewed the technical obstacles to the airport, pointing out that the planning of the airport was characterized by exaggeration, flotation, and lack of concern for the rights of citizens.

The meeting approved the formation of a committee headed by the governor and with the membership of the head of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority and the head of the Lands, Survey and Works Authority to submit technical treatments and identify violations on the airport campus to the Minister of Transport so that it can be submitted to the Council of Ministers.

The meeting was attended by a number of governorate agents, general managers of the concerned authorities and representatives of the airport’s landowners.
