A meeting in Sana’a discusses the procedures for updating partnership frameworks with the private sector

A meeting in Sana’a , which included the Ministers of Industry and Trade, Abdul-Wahab Yahya Al-Durra and Transport, Amer Al-Marani, discussed procedures for modernizing partnership frameworks with the private sector and encouraging national investments.

The meeting, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Industry Muhammad Al-Hashemi and the Undersecretary for the Foreign Trade Sector Abdullah Noaman and Internal Trade Bassam Al-Gharbani, reviewed areas of coordination between the two ministries, the private sector and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a way that contributes to supplying the market with basic, food and consumer materials to achieve supply and commodity stability in the market.

At the meeting, the Minister of Industry stressed the keenness to strengthen the partnership with the private sector in all its activities and to address the problems it suffers from, in a way that contributes to increasing the competitive capabilities of the economic sectors, especially the industrial and commercial sectors.

He pointed out that the private sector is an actual and essential partner for the state in production, strengthening the economy, and providing the local market’s needs of various goods and merchandise… urging the development of partnership between the state and the private sector and finding mechanisms that contribute to the advancement of the national economy.

He also stressed that the ministry will spare no effort in supporting the private sector and encouraging investments based on achieving a balance for the benefit of the citizen and the private sector.. Noting that the aim of these meetings is to study common issues to overcome existing difficulties and develop solutions for them.

Minister Al-Durra called on the private sector to direct part of its investments in agricultural production and local industries to support efforts towards self-sufficiency.

For his part, the Minister of Transport considered the good performance of the industrial and commercial sector an indication of the distinguished relationship between the public and private sectors and the facilities provided by the state to invest in industrial aspects and encourage local production.

He explained that strengthening the strategic partnership between the government and the private sector and activating the investment role of the private sector and businessmen represents an essential step in the economic and development process… expressing the ministry’s readiness to provide facilities to the private and commercial sector in the field of transport in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and the concerned authorities.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Industry stressed the need for concerted efforts in accordance with a community partnership, taking into account the current circumstances and the stage the country is going through, and rebuilding the relationship between the government and the private sector within the framework of the general directions of the state.

He pointed to the importance of stabilizing the relationship between the public and private sectors and building bridges of trust between them, which would contribute to enabling the private sector to play its role in comprehensive development.

While representatives of the private sector expressed their appreciation to the government and the joint efforts in activating the government’s relationship with the private sector and its contributions in solving the difficulties facing their work.

They stressed keenness to strengthen partnership with the government to advance the local industries sector to achieve economic stability, especially under the conditions of aggression and siege.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Municipality Hassan Al-Kbous, members of the Board of Directors and a number of businessmen and financiers.
