A wide wave of dust sweeps a number of governorates

 

The Yemeni National Meteorological Center said that the observational data indicate that the mountainous provinces and parts of deserts and interior plateaus continue to be affected by the cold air mass and the widespread dust associated with the air mass.

 

He expected that the weather would be cold to very cold in parts of the heights of the governorates (Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Al Bayda, Al Dhale and East Al Mahwit) and cold in the higher areas of the governorates (Ibb, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, West Al-Jawf and west of Ma’rib) and desert areas.

 

The Center expects in its yellow warning bulletin issued this morning, Friday, that the widespread dust will continue to affect the desert areas of the governorates (Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwah, Marib, Al-Jawf and eastern Saada), reaching the northwestern and central heights of the governorates (Saada, Hajjah, Amran, etc.) Sana’a, Al Mahwit, Dhamar, Al Bayda, Ibb) and parts of the southern highlands.

 

He warned citizens in governorates affected by the widespread dust wave, especially vehicle drivers on highways, against a decrease in the horizontal visibility.

 

I call on chest patients, the elderly and children not to be directly exposed to dust and dirt.

 

He pointed out that the active winds will continue in the south of the Red Sea, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and around the Socotra archipelago, and they may disturb the sea and raise waves.

 

The center warned citizens, especially the elderly, children, sick people, workers during the night and early morning hours, and travelers to the heights of the effects of the extremely cold weather.

 

He also warned farmers in mountainous provinces of the effects of the severe cold wave.

 

He warned sea goers and ship captains, especially small ones, to take the necessary precautions against sea turbulence and high waves in parts of the western Arabian Sea and around the Socotra archipelago and the Bab al-Mandab entrance
