Deputy of the Aviation Authority: Aggression aircraft targets Sana’a airport and makes it out of readiness

The Deputy of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Raed Jabal, said that the aircraft of the US-Saudi aggression coalition directly targeted Sana’a International Airport with a number of raids, which led to it being out of readiness.

Jabal said in a statement  that Sana’a Airport was providing its navigational services to United Nations aircraft and international organizations with all professionalism and technical readiness, according to the international requirements and requirements applicable at international airports.

He stressed that the Saudi-led aggression coalition aims, through this targeting, to impede humanitarian aid provided to the Yemeni people and obstruct the flights of the United Nations and international organizations operating in Yemen, ignoring all international covenants and agreements that criminalize targeting civilian airports, foremost of which is the Chicago Agreement.

He pointed out that the countries of the coalition of aggression targeted Sana’a International Airport since the first day and prevented the entry of its communications equipment and system, and today they targeted the airport directly.

The Deputy of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology pointed out that the targeting of the airport comes within the framework of the aggression’s targeting of civilian objects protected by international law.

He called on the United Nations to take immediate action to stop this systematic targeting of the airport, which would impede its movements.
