Discussing the modernization and expansion of the passenger terminal at Sana’a International Airport

Today’s meeting in Sana’a, headed by Minister of Transport Zakaria Al-Shami, discussed the mechanism of developing, modernizing and expanding the passenger terminal at the current Sanaa International Airport, according to what was included in the national vision in its first stage.

The meeting, which was attended by Abdullah Al-Ansi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Air Transport Sector and Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Qader, the agency’s representative, Raed Jabal, and the assistant agents of the authority and the director general of Sanaa International Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, reviewed the engineering studies and plans that were developed by the technical and engineering staff of the authority in accordance with the terms and requirements International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO.

The meeting touched on the large areas that were exploited during the study to expand and modernize, which contributes to alleviating the congestion of arriving and departing travelers by establishing wider halls for departure, arrival, transit and other priority engineering constructions.

At the meeting, the Minister of Transport stressed the importance of cooperation and concerted efforts to implement the project, which will constitute a quantum leap in the field of domestic and international air navigation.

He explained that the project comes within the projects included in the national vision matrix for building the modern Yemeni state in the stage of recovery and economic recovery 2020.

The Minister of Transport pointed out that the engineering designs and the exploitation of the large areas that were taken will greatly reduce the crowds that travelers were suffering from at Sana’a Airport, which is the main gateway to Yemen.
