Discussing the strategic vision for developing Ras Issa and Salif ports in Hodeida

 

A meeting in Al-Hodeida Governorate, Wednesday 5/1-2022 AD, chaired by the Minister of Transport Amer Ali Al-Marani and the Governor of Al-Hodeida Muhammad Ayyash Qahim discussed the strategic vision for the development of Ras Issa and Salif ports.

The meeting, in the presence of the CEO of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, Captain Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, his deputy, Engineer Yahya Abbas Sharaf Al-Din, and members of the two presidential committees in charge of addressing the imbalances and developing the ports of Saleef and Ras Issa, reviewed the activities and work related to the development of the two ports, which emanated from the national vision.

The meeting touched on the natural components of Saleef and Ras Issa, its strategic location on the Red Sea, depths of up to 50 meters, and its investment and economic future, which qualifies it to become one of the largest multi-tasking ports.

At the meeting, the Minister of Transport affirmed the ministry’s keenness, its sectors, bodies and institutions to develop work and provide its services to citizens in a manner that ensures the optimal implementation of development programs and plans in the various fields of transport.. Pointing to the ministry’s role in implementing the projects, programs and plans of the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.

He pointed out the future economic importance represented by the ports of Saleef and Ras Issa at the national and international levels. He stressed the need for the relevant authorities to play their role and work in a team spirit in preparing the strategy, in a manner that serves the aspects of development and the supreme interest of the state.

Minister Al-Marani indicated that the facts on the ground and the war crimes committed by the aggressors during the seven years clearly indicate that everyone is in the targeting circle and that the main purpose of this aggression is to destroy all of Yemen in order to facilitate their control over it, plunder its wealth and exploit its geostrategic location on the global map.

He explained that the national project led by the leader of the revolution, Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and all the benefactors thwarted the grand schemes and satanic formulas of this brutal criminal aggression and its projects to tear the great Yemeni nation apart.

While the governor of Hodeida stressed the keenness to provide aspects of support to the two presidential committees concerned with achieving the vision and addressing imbalances.

He pointed out that the enemy is still betting on breaking the will of the Yemeni man, but it is impossible for him to do so, and the Yemeni people, with their forces, army and committees, air, land and sea embody the meanings of sacrifice, redemption and patriotism.

He explained that Yemen is a country of great human sacrifices and achievements as well, since before Islam until today.

Qahim praised the role of the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and the Red Sea Ports Corporation exerted in developing the work, noting the efforts that contributed to overcoming difficulties and raising the level of performance and services provided to citizens in the various transport sectors.

In turn, the head of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation clarified that the Corporation was a pioneer in developing perceptions for the development of the ports of Ras Issa and Saleef because of their great importance and the important and distinguished location they possess that qualifies them to be strategic ports through great depths and natural protection.

Captain Ishaq praised the keenness of the revolutionary and political leadership and the leadership of the ministry to develop the ports through a strategic vision that keeps pace with global developments and the sacrifices made by the Yemeni people in facing the aggression and breaking its thorn.

He considered the will of the Yemenis and their achievements at the political and military level and popular cohesion as a real success for Yemen, which confused the coalition of aggression and closed the doors to all forms of conspiracies.

He pointed out that the determination and strong will of Yemenis is indomitable and qualifies them to be the owners of a successful and not insignificant state in the region and the world.

He stressed the importance of optimizing the exploitation of the coasts that God has bestowed on Yemen, and its linking location to more than one continent that qualifies it to play a pivotal role in global trade. I am aware of past mistakes and removing existing obstacles so that the projects in the vision serve the Yemeni citizen and compete in the region.

The meeting was attended by the directors general of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation and the Coast Guard Command.
