Educational workshop on Total Quality Management at the General Authority for Roads and Bridges

an educational workshop on Total Quality Management was held at the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, organized by the General Administration of Administrative Affairs and the Roads Vocational Training Center at the Authority.

The workshop aimed to introduce 50 leaders and specialized engineers in the Authority to the concepts of total quality and the methods and tools for applying it in practical reality.

During the workshop, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, stressed the importance of this workshop, which focuses on the concepts of total quality and the methods for applying it in practical reality.

He pointed out that the workshop comes within the framework of the Authority’s training plan for the year 2025 AD, which includes many training programs and activities that cover various fields related to the work of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges.

The Chairman of the Foundation urged the participants in the workshop to understand the concepts and tools it contains about total quality, so that they can apply them in reality in a way that positively reflects on the overall performance of the institution.

The workshop included many topics about the definition of total quality and its importance in the modern work environment, the difference between traditional quality and total quality, the principles of quality management, and the benefits of applying it at both the individual and institutional level.

It also included the elements and tools of total quality, strategies and steps for its implementation, and the presentation of global models of quality, as well as strategic thinking in improving operations by analyzing current operations, identifying their strengths and weaknesses, the importance of making decisions based on data, and linking quality improvement efforts to the strategic goals of the institution.

The workshop outcomes emphasized the importance of applying total quality due to its impact on enhancing job satisfaction, improving the work environment, organizing operations, and developing strategic thinking skills to improve performance.

The recommendations also included preparing work teams capable of implementing the quality system, as well as an initial action plan to implement total quality in the institution.
