Investments in the transportation sector in China increased by 8.9% in the first 10 months
Official data showed that China’s investment in fixed assets in the transportation sector rose 8.9 percent year-on-year in the first ten months of this year, according to official data.
The Ministry of Transportation said that from January to October, the country’s total investment in fixed assets in the sector reached 2.8 trillion yuan (about 425.82 billion US dollars).
Joint investment in highways and waterways accounted for the largest share of all fixed-asset investment, with an influx of 2.1 trillion yuan during the period, an increase of 11.8 percent year-on-year.
In October alone, the country’s transportation sector investment rose 2.3 percent over the same period last year, to 334.5 billion yuan, according to the ministry.
