Launch of “Hajjah” boat from floating slider in Hodeida port, after its maintenance

The launch of “Hajjah” boat was unloaded from the floating slider in the port of Hodeida, after completing the work of the first phase of its maintenance.

 

During the launch of the boat, Deputy Minister of Transport, Mohammed Al-Hashemi, and Head of the Land Transport Authority, Walid Al-Wadaei, from the General Departments of Technical Affairs and Maritime Operations at the Red Sea Ports Corporation, listened to an explanation of the maintenance work that was carried out for the boat during the first phase, which included all parts of the hull submerged below the waterline. Valves, cooling networks, rudder, operating systems, population system and propellers.

 

Al-Hashemi appreciated the efforts of the Corporation’s leadership, engineers and technicians in the Technical Department, Maritime Operations, Safety and Industrial Security in maintaining marine boats and all the Corporation’s equipment and mechanisms and maintaining their readiness to work around the clock in light of the current conditions the country is going through.

 

He stressed the keenness to provide all the supplies required by the port’s operational process, according to what is available in the local market, as a result of the continued prevention of entry of spare parts by the countries of aggression.

 

He urged the Deputy Minister of Transport to redouble efforts and complete the completion of all maintenance work according to the plan prepared and to set a specific timetable in coordination with the concerned departments at the corporation.

 

While the Chairman of the Corporation, Captain Mohammed Ishaq, and his deputy, Zaid Al-Weshali, confirmed that the maintenance work for the marine boats in the port is carried out with Yemeni cadres trained to carry out such works.

 

They explained that the maintenance work for the marine boats was carried out in basins outside the country, which the Corporation is unable to do now as a result of the blockade imposed on its ports years ago.

 

Ishaq and Al Weshali stated that the second phase includes maintenance of the boat’s hull above the waterline, rehabilitation of the main and auxiliary engines, and maintenance of all dashboard and installations of the electrical system
