Maqbouly and Al-Shami discuss the mechanism for developing the weather and climate forecast system

 

A meeting in Sana’a , which included Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs Dr. Hussein Maqbouly and Minister of Transport Zakaria Al-Shami, discussed a mechanism for updating and developing the weather and climate forecast system, and establishing a national center for early warning of weather and climate changes.

 

In the presence of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Raed Jabal, Assistant deputy for the Meteorology Sector, Engineer Muhammad Hamid, and specialists in the meteorology sector, the meeting reviewed the services provided by the sector and the National Center for Meteorology with the aim of ensuring the safety of air, sea and land navigation, as well as the services provided to citizens in general, farmers, investors and researchers. To avoid weather and climate disasters.

 

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development stressed the need to feel responsibility and provide excellent services to farmers, investors and researchers through accurate information on weather and climate changes.

 

He pointed out that climate change and its prediction contribute to reducing the occurrence of disasters and preserving the property of citizens, pointing out that the rainy season contributed to the recovery of the national economy.

 

Makbouli urged the need to develop a monitoring system capable of identifying weather changes and the threats that may result from them, especially in light of aggression and blockade.

 

While the Minister of Transport affirmed that the meteorology sector provides its services in a technical and professional manner around the clock to citizens of all classes and through regular and private bulletins to secure aviation traffic and publish them through various media … indicating that the meteorology sector works with qualified technical cadres.

 

He called on the competent authorities to support the meteorology sector of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, as it is the only authority and officially authorized to issue information and data on climate variables and weather conditions.
