Meeting at Supreme Authority for Control

 

An expande meeting held  at the Supreme Authority for Tenders and Auctions Control, headed by the Authority’s Chairman, Eng. Abdul Malik Al-Arshi, discussed aspects related to addressing the status of externally funded projects that have been in place for more than ten years.

The meeting, which included Authority members Dr. Yassin Al-Khorasani, Amin Al-Jund, Deputy Ministers of Transport and Public Works Yahya Al-Sayani, Finance Nasser Al-Hamdani, Administration and Local and Rural Development Nasser Al-Mahdhar, and representatives of relevant authorities, addressed the measures to preserve the property of the state and other parties, by studying the status of these projects, whether completed or suspended, and making appropriate proposals for them.

The meeting stressed the need for coordination between the relevant state agencies, funding agencies, and project implementation units to list these projects, study their status and contracts, and propose appropriate solutions and treatments that ensure their completion or liquidation in a way that avoids any financial burdens.

It approved the formation of a joint working team headed by the Authority to study the status of the projects and develop an integrated matrix of appropriate treatments, taking into account the nature of each project, including arranging for the reconstruction phase during the coming periods.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Tenders and Auctions Control stressed the need to develop flexible mechanisms that ensure the proper implementation of projects, guided by the laws and regulations in force.

Al-Arshi pointed out the importance of this meeting to coordinate efforts between ministries and relevant authorities to work on settling the status of projects in a way that ensures the preservation of the national interest, by developing a mechanism to address the status of these projects according to precise and studied technical procedures and standards and in accordance with the law.

In turn, the Deputy Ministers of Transport, Public Works, Finance, Administration and Local Development addressed the importance of developing visions and treatments at the level of project stages that ensure reaching solutions that take into account the rights of all parties.

They stressed the importance of interaction and coordination between the various concerned parties, considering that everyone is facing a very important issue with economic consequences and needs to be dealt with professionally in coordination with the leadership.

Al-Sayani, Al-Hamdani and Al-Mahdhar stressed the need to prepare integrated visions and determine treatments for each project separately after studying its legal status accurately, including projects that were targeted by the aggression.

They pointed out that despite the difficult circumstances and challenges facing Yemen as a result of the continued US-British-Zionist aggression, it is necessary to prepare for the reconstruction phase with all its requirements.

The meeting was attended by a number of undersecretaries and leaders of the Ministries of Transport, Public Works, Finance, Administration, Local and Rural Development, the Supreme Authority for Tender Control, and other concerned authorities.
