meeting at the Ministry of Industry discusses a mechanism to reduce road overloads

 

A meeting held in Sana’a, chaired by Minister of Industry and Trade Abdel Wahab Al-Durra, discussed a joint work mechanism to reduce the overloads of transport trucks on the road network

The meeting, in the presence of the President of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs, Walid Al-Wadaei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Road Maintenance Fund, Eng. Nabil Al-Haifi, a number of general directors and specialists in the Ministry and members of the Joint Committee to reduce road overloads, reviewed the committee’s plans, programs and awareness activities and procedures for controlling overloads from the main loading sources Represented in the ports, outlets, centers, quarries, factories and commercial stores.

The Minister of Industry and Trade stressed the need for concerted and complementary efforts between the various authorities to preserve the road network and protect it from deterioration.

He pointed to the importance of spreading community awareness of the danger of overloads on road users and the increase in traffic accidents.

He expressed the Ministry’s readiness to provide support and guidance to all factories, factories and freight transport companies of the necessity for trucks to adhere to the cargo specified in accordance with the law and its executive regulations.

 

The Minister of Industry and Trade valued the efforts made by the Road Transport Affairs Regulatory Authority and the Road Maintenance Fund to protect roads … calling on everyone to adhere to the legal loads on the road network to preserve the safety of its users.

Al-Wadaei reviewed the Authority’s efforts and the measures it has taken to reduce overloads on the road network.

He explained that the movement of the transport fleet during the past year reached 737,753 heavy transport trucks … indicating that this greatly affects the road network and exposes it to destruction.

He stressed the importance of implementing the law and its executive regulations and adhering to it.

For his part, Al-Haifi touched on the importance of preserving the road network as it is the main artery for transport and serves all development sectors.

He stressed work to implement control procedures for violators and reduce overloads, which play a fundamental role in the collapse and destruction of roads
