Meteorology warns of cold weather on mountain heights

 

 

The National Center of Meteorology warned residents of mountainous heights from the cold weather, especially the elderly, children and workers who go to work during the evening and early morning during the next 24 hours.

 

The center warned in its air briefe farmers from the severe cold wave in order to preserve their livestock and agricultural crops, as well as fishermen from the disturbance of the sea around the Socotra archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, the eastern coasts and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.

 

The center expected cold weather during the night and early morning in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, Al-Bayda and Al-Dhalea, as well as the higher areas of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Lahj and Abyan and parts of the interior plateaus.

 

He indicated that the weather will be sunny during daylight hours, with cells of rain clouds appearing in the afternoon on parts of the southwestern highlands and the highlands adjacent to the Tihama Plain.

 

The center pointed out that the weather will be partly cloudy in general on most of the coasts of the republic, with the possibility of scattered rain on parts of the southern coasts with moderate to active winds that cause dust and sand on the southern parts of the western coasts, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and the city of Mocha, with a speed of 12 – 25 knots.

 

The center stated that the weather in the desert regions will be healthy and dry, in general, relatively cold during the night and early morning, and light to moderate winds with variable directions, while the weather will be partly cloudy in the Socotra Archipelago, with the possibility of scattered rain and light to moderate northeast winds.
