Minister of Transport and Financial launch electronic collection of land transport fees
The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Muhammad Qahim, and the finance, Abdul Jabbar Ahmed Mohamed, inaugurated the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, the electronic collection of land transport fees in all governorates of the Republic.
During the inauguration, which was attended by the head of the executive unit of information and systems at the Ministry of Finance, Eng. Hamid Hassan, the Minister of Transport and Public Works affirmed that the inauguration of electronic collection comes within the framework of developing institutional performance, to facilitate the procedures for collecting and monitoring resources.
He pointed out that electronic collection contributes to increasing efficiency in the collection process, reducing errors and enhancing transparency, providing time and effort in addition to ease of obtaining daily, monthly and quarterly financial reports.
Minister Qahim stressed the need to work at a high pace to advance the transportation sector to meet the needs of the citizen.
In turn, the Minister of Finance stressed that the authority’s transfer to electronic collection to all its revenues by 100 percent reflects the keenness of the authority’s leadership to adopt automation as a leading destination in this field.
He praised the efforts made by the authority and the executive unit of information and systems at the Ministry of Finance to reach this result and everyone who contributed to this success in the branches of the authority in the various governorates.
Minister Abdel -Jabbar explained that electronic collection contributes to preserving public resources and facilitating the collection process that was taking place in paper, and requires effort, time and more costs, in addition to providing accurate and immediate information and data and limits forgery and manipulation that may occur.
The Ministry of Finance has confirmed the publication of electronic systems and the expansion of the electronic collection base for all sides and all the state’s general revenues and resources to reach an electronic collection of 100 percent.
While the head of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, Dr. Ibrahim Al -Moayad, reviewed the executive steps taken by the authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance in the electronic collection automation project for land transport fees.
He stressed that the authority operates according to the priorities of the government of change and construction program, which is one of its priorities, pointing out that electronic achievement will contribute to addressing the problems caused by the use of vouchers and manual supply portfolios.
During the inauguration, a practical experiment was conducted to pay the fees on the phone, and it was presented about difficulties and problems as a result of the collection of bonds previously.
The Minister of Finance, Transport and Public Works also honored the technical team from the Ministry of Finance and the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, which contributed to the success of the electronic collection.
The inauguration was attended by the deputy head of the executive unit of information and systems at the Ministry of Finance, Suleiman Selim, and the director of the unified accounting system in the unit, Osama Al -Ra’ini.
