Ministry of Transport and Public Works condemns the UAE occupier’s attempt to control Socotra Airport

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works condemned the UAE occupier’s attempt to control Socotra Airport through an Emirati company called “Eastern Triangle”.
The ministry stressed in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) a copy of it, that the UAE occupier’s persistence in violating national sovereignty must be confronted by the people of the island and with them all the free people of Yemen.
It expressed its regret for the shameful role of the traitors and agents affiliated with the Transitional Council in assisting the UAE occupier to control the vital capabilities of the Yemeni people, whether in Socotra or in other occupied governorates.. explaining that the UAE occupier seeks, through controlling this airport, to serve its intelligence activity that harms not only Yemen but all countries of the region.
The ministry said, “According to the provisions of the Yemeni Civil Aviation Law amended in 2009, and based on international obligations requiring adherence to the Chicago Convention and the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization, the only legal authority authorized to issue permits and regulate air operations within the Republic of Yemen is the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology in Sana’a. In this context, the Ministry of Transport and Public Works condemns the procedures and permits issued by the Aden Authority, which constitute a clear violation of national legislation and contradict constitutional legal principles, which undermines the principle of national sovereignty and the management of vital resources for civil aviation.”
It stressed that the permits issued by the Aden Authority, which are based on illegal procedures, are considered null and void and do not entail any binding legal effects, as they violate the explicit texts of the Yemeni Civil Aviation Law, and expose air security and national resources to serious risks. In addition, such procedures are used to promote external agendas that are contrary to the interests of the Yemeni people, and work to transfer revenues and resources to foreign parties without the approval of the authorized legal authority in Sana’a. The ministry pointed out that the persistence of the Emirati occupier in implementing the American-Zionist agenda has reached a stage of disdain for the Yemeni people and tampering with their security and sovereignty, which necessitates that all the sons of the homeland stand together to confront it, with the free people of Socotra Island and Archipelago and the rest of the occupied southern governorates at the forefront.
It held the UN Security Council and the United Nations fully legally responsible and bear all the consequences of these blatant interventions by the Saudi-Emirati occupier and their tampering with the security, sovereignty and capabilities of the Republic of Yemen.
