Positive indicators in organizing the performance of transport sorting and collection fees in Sana’a Governorate

 

During the first quarter of this year, the branch of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs in Sana’a Governorate achieved positive indicators in improving the performance of transport sorting and revenue collection fees .

The director of the authority’s governorate branch, Ahmed Hajar, explained tangible results were achieved after merging the transport offices with the authority in dealing with many problems and correcting imbalances in the performance of transport sorting and the collection process .

He stated that the authority’s branch adopted an executive plan in the programs and activities of coordinating mechanisms and frameworks for organizing ten main screening tasks in the districts of Sanhan, Bani Matar, Bani Hushaish and Hamdan, and organizing car parks and sorting associated with transporting passengers within the governorate, passing through the streets leading to the capital’s municipality .

Hajar reported that 90 percent of the achievements have been made in the mechanisms of improving transport screening collection fees, points and sites for collecting crushers ’fees in 14 locations at the entrances to the capital, and ending the randomness and imbalances in containers and aspects of the collection of transport revenues of all kinds .

He indicated that awareness programs, coordination activities, reformulation of regulations governing the performance of the authority and field campaigns, intensifying field visits and strengthening supervision, have contributed to the application of regulations for organizing land transport affairs, and the increase in collection fee revenues, in accordance with transparent legal controls .

Hajar pointed out that the authority’s branch is working first-hand through the operations room and the public administration and receiving complaints on studying, monitoring and evaluating the status of transport sorting in the governorate, especially associated with the entrances to the capital, organizing its performance, and controlling violations.

He pointed out that the authority’s branch is currently working on developing a timetable to implement interim programs to follow up the mechanisms for regulating passenger routes for means of transporting passengers and to achieve more discipline in sorting transport to prevent traffic congestion and bottlenecks, and to control drivers who violate the regulations and instructions .

He called on the concerned authorities to cooperate with the control and collection committees and teams in overcoming obstacles and difficulties in order to ensure the application of procedures related to the activity of the authority’s branch and its legal executive regulations in the collection of fees for heavy, medium and light transportation .

He also called on citizens and relevant authorities to report any violations of the traffic lines and sort the transportation of passengers to ensure the ease of passage of vehicles and means of transport on the lines and avoid bottlenecks and obstruct the traffic of cars .

The director of the authority’s branch valued the governorate leadership’s support for the authority in implementing its tasks and plans to correct imbalances, especially after merging the transport offices with the authority and contributing to improving and developing financial indicators.
