President meets the General Authority Land Transport Affairs

President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, met, Chairman of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs Walid Al-Wadaei.

During the meeting, the achievements of the authority during the past year were discussed, and the most important steps and projects that the authority seeks to implement in the current year.

The President urged Al-Mashat to reduce the number of owners of buses operating in urban transport and heavy transport trucks, and to prevent random collection.

He directed the completion of the procedures for merging the transport offices of the local authorities with the authority’s branches in the governorates, especially the secretariat’s office, to prevent duplication in collection and random collection.

President Al-Mashat referred to what heavy transport trucks leave on the roads as a result of heavy loads, stressing the need to activate the pivot scales to control the weight standards on heavy transport trucks, and to take the necessary measures against violators of those standards.
