The conclusion of the training program activities on enhancing transparency, integrity and combating corruption for the employees of the institutions and agencies of the Ministry of Transport in Hodeidah Governorate

 

The activities of the training program on enhancing transparency, integrity and combating corruption, organized by the Ministry of Transport and the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption for the employees of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation and the two bodies for organizing land transport affairs and maritime affairs in Hodeidah governorate concluded at the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation – Hodeidah Port. Within the framework of the awareness and training program related to enhancing transparency and integrity and preventing and combating corruption in light of the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.

 

Where (61) participants in the program received over a period of one week on many axes related to transparency, integrity, combating corruption, its risks, effects and types, the concept of good governance, its principles, standards and requirements for its implementation on the practical reality of all the various sectors of the state.

 

The participants learned about the Right to Information Act and a course in preventing corruption in light of Yemeni law, international principles, investigation procedures and investigation of corruption crimes and its importance in enhancing transparency in government facilities.

 

The program participants will receive knowledge, methods, skills and methods of combating corruption and the risks of conflicts of interest in achieving justice and efforts to combat corruption.

 

The participants also learned about the values ​​and principles of integrity, transparency, accountability, good governance, and the distinction between corruption crimes and administrative violations.

 

Emphasis was placed on the skills and rules of ethical codes of conduct and their role in promoting transparency, integrity and societal accountability to prevent corruption.

 

General axes and a general framework for the draft code of conduct were set for the employees of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation and the two bodies for regulating land transport and maritime affairs in Hodeidah Governorate .

 

The trainees receive skills and knowledge on political, legislative, institutional, administrative, cultural, social and punitive measures to reduce corruption and work to combat it.

 

Whereas, the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, last month, issued an ethical document for employees of the General Administration of Procurement and Tenders to deal between employees and merchants dealing with the corporation, and this is an unprecedented achievement for the corporation as the first institution affiliated to the Ministry of Transport and all ministries to issue such an ethical document .

 

The program included many workshops and training activities, as well as visual presentations and scenes to help in understanding the training content.

 

Speaking professor / Adel Aqabi Director of Awareness Department, education and community participation of the Supreme National Authority for the fight against corruption that the Authority seeks through the implementation of such quality courses in all ministries, agencies and institutions of the state to create effective companies with various ministries, agencies and institutions to fight corruption and filling any gaps that might be implemented , including To reach a country free of corruption.

 

Al-Okbi said that the process of combating and preventing corruption is a shared societal responsibility for which all ministries, agencies and state institutions and civil society groups must combine efforts to raise educational awareness to combat it among members of society.

 

Mr. Mithaq Hussein, Director General of Training and Rehabilitation at the Ministry of Transport, thanked Major General / Zakaria Al-Shami, the Ministry of Transport, and Captain / Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, for holding such qualitative courses for the Ministry’s cadres and well-organizing them in order to achieve maximum benefit from its outputs.

 

The participants in the training program appreciated the great efforts of the leadership of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, represented by Captain / Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, Chairman of the Board of Directors, for the efforts that made this qualitative program a success, looking forward to reflecting the outcomes of the training program in their practical and professional lives in order to enhance the performance of the institution.

 

It is noteworthy that next week, a training course ( TOT ) will be held for (30) participants from the employees of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation and the two bodies for organizing land transport and maritime affairs in Al Hodeidah Governorate, to be the nucleus of training in combating and preventing corruption in Hodeidah Governorate
