The Minister of Transport confirms the readiness of the port of Hodeida to receive ships and goods

 

The Minister of Transport, Amer Al-Marani, confirmed the readiness of Al-Hodeida port to receive ships, commercial containers, goods and foodstuffs.

The Minister of Transport pointed out in an expanded meeting today in Sana’a of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation the advantages possessed by the port of Hodeida and its importance in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and providing their basic needs of foodstuffs.

“The port of Hodeida acquires a natural strategic location to serve two-thirds of the population of the Republic of Yemen, and it is distinguished in terms of proximity and ease of transporting goods and foodstuffs from the port to the capital, Sana’a, and the rest of the governorates at the lowest cost and fastest time,” he said.

The Minister of Transport saluted the effective contribution and national spirit of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, as well as Yemeni businessmen and financiers.

He expressed the readiness of the Ministry of Transport and the Red Sea Ports Corporation to facilitate all procedures for ships and commercial containers loaded with foodstuffs entering Hodeida ports.

Minister Al-Marani considered the unjust increase in the price of the customs dollar fee from 250 to 500 riyals by the mercenaries in Aden, an aggressive scheme to kill and bring down the Yemeni people after their military failure in front of the heroes of the army and the popular committees.

In the meeting, which included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Maritime and Ports Affairs Khaled Al-Nimr, the President of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, Captain Muhammad Ishaq, the President of the Chamber of Commerce in the Secretariat, Hassan Al-Kbous, the Director of the Navigational Chambers, Hassan Abdullah, the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Businessmen Tawfiq Al-Khamri, and a number of businessmen and traders. Red Sea Ports Confirm the readiness of Hodeida port to receive ships and containers loaded with goods and food commodities in accordance with international standards.

He expressed the institution’s readiness to provide facilities to the private and commercial sector, simplify the procedures for receiving goods and commodities, and stand by the private and commercial sector and solve any problems that alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Ishaq said: “The port of Hodeida is specified to serve the citizen and merchants in general, and it operates with a capacity that qualifies it to receive ships and commercial containers with high professionalism.”

He explained that the coalition of aggression, since its inception, prevented the entry of more than 400 items to the port of Hodeida, all of which are a basic requirement for the lives of Yemenis.

He considered the blockade imposed by the aggression on the port as a crime against humanity and a violation of all international laws and agreements.

Members of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation stressed that the decision of the customs authorities in Aden to raise the price of the customs dollar has catastrophic repercussions on the livelihood of the citizen and damages the national economy and the commercial and investment movement.

The meeting discussed the mechanism of facilitating the transfer of ships and containers from the port of Aden to the port of Hodeida due to the raising of tariff fees at the customs of Aden, the readiness of the port of Hodeida and the facilities provided to traders and the private sector.

The meeting reviewed the problems and difficulties facing the private sector and traders, the high cost of transporting goods and foodstuffs from Aden to Sana’a, the long and rough distances, and the dangers facing heavy trucks
