The Minister of Transport meets the Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement

Today, Minister of Transport Zakaria Al-Shami discussed with the Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission in Support of the Hodeidah Agreement, Daniela Krosk, ways to rehabilitate the port of Hodeidah in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement.

The meeting touched on the aspects related to the continued closure of Sana’a International Airport by the Saudi-led aggression, in violation of international laws and agreements and the ICAO and its disastrous repercussions, which prevented 40,000 patients from traveling abroad for treatment abroad and prevented stranded and expatriates returning to the homeland.

In the meeting, the Minister of Transport pointed out the difficulties facing the port of Hodeidah due to the destruction of its equipment and equipment, which crippled the port’s movement and became operating with the human machine .. Noting that as a result of that, the port’s works and its technical and technical services in receiving and unloading ships decreased.

He stressed that the Saudi-led aggression coalition engaged in maritime piracy acts on ships arriving and leaving the port of Hodeidah by holding them two months before entry and two months after unloading, despite obtaining official permits from UNIFEM.

Minister Al-Shamy expressed regret that the rehabilitation of Hodeidah port has not yet been implemented, although this is one of the main axes stipulated in the Stockholm Agreement.

In turn, the Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission in Support of the Hodeidah Agreement affirmed the mission and the United Nations’ keenness to implement the Stockholm Agreement in all its major axes, including the rehabilitation of the port of Hodeidah in order to raise the suffering of the Yemeni people and provide their necessary needs.

And called for more cooperation by all parties to contribute to the cease-fire in Hodeidah and work to meet the needs of the Yemeni people of food, medicine and others.
