A meeting at the Red Sea Ports Corporation discusses aspects of cooperation between the Corporation, Industry and Trade, and Kamran Company in Hodeidah Governorate

A meeting held in Hodeidah Port, Tuesday 31-10-2023 AD, headed by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Mohammed Al-Hashemi, discussed aspects of cooperation between the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Industry and Trade, and Kamran Company in Hodeidah Governorate.
The meeting, which included the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Marine Engineer Yasser Muhammad Ahmed, the Director General of Industry and Trade in the Governorate, Yahya Atifa, and the Chairman of the Kamran Company, Muhammad al-Dawla, was devoted to discussing the needs of the Corporation’s ports, most notably the port of Hodeidah, in terms of gantry cranes and ground handling equipment, such as incubators, tongs, and cranes, which It will speed up work at the corporation’s ports.

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Transport stressed the strategic role of the Red Sea Corporation’s ports and the importance they represent in meeting the needs of more than 70% of the Yemeni people and the necessity of supplying these ports with operational requirements that would speed up the process of unloading ships arriving at them.
Al-Hashemi, Director General of Industry and Trade, and Kamran Company, heard from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, an explanation about the extent of the efforts made to improve services, develop mechanisms for completing tasks, speed up transactions for unloading ships and transporting arriving goods, and find alternatives and solutions that ensure the smoothness and speed of implementing procedures.

The Deputy Minister of Transport stressed the importance of the role of the private sector in investing in this aspect and providing part of those needs necessary for the work of Hodeidah Port to fully implement its tasks, which will contribute to increasing the work of Hodeidah Port and in a way that serves the public interest.

For his part, the Director General of Industry and Trade in the governorate emphasized the importance of providing the operational requirements for the corporation’s ports, especially the port of Hodeidah, including gantry cranes, incubators, tugs, trailers, and launches, expressing their readiness to participate in this aspect.

Meanwhile, the head of Kamran Company praised the efforts made by the corporation’s leadership to continue the operational process despite the direct targeting of the equipment and machinery… explaining that this stage requires concerted efforts to rehabilitate the corporation’s port infrastructure so that it can carry out its tasks optimally.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Transport, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Director General of Industry and Trade in the governorate, and President of Kamran Company, made a field visit to the docks of Hodeidah Port to review the navigational and commercial movement.
