Dr. Abu Lahoum discusses the situation of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation

 

A meeting at the Red Sea Ports Corporation in Hodeida Governorate, Sunday 23-1-1444 AH, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance Dr. Rashid Abboud Abu Lahoum, discussed the status of the Corporation and the projects that were implemented in the port.

The meeting, which included the Ministers of Industry and Trade Mohammed Al-Mutahar, Electricity and Energy Dr. Mohammed Al-Bakhiti, the Governor of Hodeida Mohammed Qahim, and the CEO of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Captain Mohammed Ishaq, stressed the need to establish a solar power plant in the port to provide renewable energy and reduce dependence on fuel.

The meeting touched on the technical support that will be provided to the Corporation to complete the preparation of the study for the solar power plant project in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs praised the institution’s performance and implementation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council regarding the reform of economic units.

For his part, the CEO of the Corporation praised the attention given by the Deputy Prime Minister to the Corporation and his keenness to rehabilitate the port and its readiness.

To that, Dr. Abu Lahoum, along with the Ministers of Industry and Electricity and the Governor of Hodeida, reviewed the maintenance and rehabilitation projects in Hodeida Port, which included the maintenance of the container road and public warehouses, the rehabilitation of the incubators’ hangar, the building of the Training and Information Center, and the construction of the canopy of electric generators.

They were accompanied during the visit by the Director of the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs Kamal Khaled, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for the Organization Sector Nasr Al-Nusairi, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Governorate Ahmed Dahmous and the directors of Hodeida Electricity Ayoub Al-Bahri and the Industrial Zone Abdullah Al-Bakari
