Prime Minister,Minister of Transport and Abbad visit Sana’a International Airport

During the visit, the Prime Minister inspected the conditions of the airport and the efforts made by government agencies to rehabilitate the damage caused to it due to the repeated targeting of it by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition.

Dr. Bin Habtoor, Al-Durra and Abbad heard from the Director General of the Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, an explanation of the efforts made by the various concerned authorities to rehabilitate the airport, which has become in a position that qualifies it to receive commercial aircraft 24 hours a day, with all services provided to departures and arrivals.

He referred to the rehabilitation of the reception and departure halls, the main runway and the night lighting on both sides, with the operation of the internal systems with their service, security and health aspects, which qualified it to receive United Nations planes and finally Yemeni Airlines planes under the armistice agreement.

He pointed out the continued intransigence and procrastination of the coalition of aggression regarding granting flight permits, which causes great burdens on travelers, especially patients coming from long distances, stressing that the airport is currently ready to receive commercial planes 24 hours a day.

Prime Minister praised all the efforts made by the Ministry of Transport and other relevant authorities to rehabilitate the airport.

He called on the United Nations to work on continuously reopening the airport to commercial aviation as a human right that does not accept procrastination, politicization or subjecting it to negotiation, while obligating the aggression coalition during this period to respect the armistice agreement and to abide by the conduct of commercial flights to the airport in accordance with what was agreed upon.

Prime Minister noted the state of relief expressed by travelers and arrivals through the airport as a result of good treatment with them and facilitating their travel procedures, in addition to alleviating the hardship of traveling to Aden and Seiyun.
