Al-Nuaimi Launches Awareness and Educational Program to Promote Integrity and Combat Corruption

 

Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, a member of the Supreme Political Council, launched an awareness and educational program  to promote integrity, combat corruption, and prevent its spread. The program targets several service-oriented entities.

During the launch, Al-Nuaimi emphasized the importance of raising awareness and educating the public about preventative measures against corruption. He stressed the need to develop public policies that contribute to reducing corruption.

He urged addressing the shortcomings that create opportunities for corruption and corrupt individuals, noting the importance of having procedures in place to deter those who engage in corruption and serve as a deterrent to others.

The Supreme Political Council member highlighted the importance of the awareness and educational program in promoting integrity, combating corruption, and preventing its spread. He urged various entities to continuously monitor progress on a monthly basis. He emphasized the importance of rationalizing expenditures across all sectors to curb corruption, especially in light of the blockade and aggression Yemen is experiencing. He considered combating corruption a fulfillment of the martyrs’ blood and sacrifices, and an act in accordance with the directives of the revolutionary leadership, represented by the leader, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.

At the launch, which was attended by the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Abdullah al-Amir, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, the Acting Ministers of Economy, Industry and Investment, Sam al-Bashiri, and Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Ammar al-Karim, the Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water, Adel Bader, the Mayor of Sana’a, Dr. Hamoud Abbad, and the Governor of Hodeidah, Abdullah Atifi, the Deputy Head of the National Anti-Corruption Authority, Ridan al-Mutawakkil, considered the program’s launch a declaration of an intensive phase of integrated work to protect public funds and safeguard the civil service.

He said, “The program is not merely a series of fleeting seminars, but a practical path that will directly contribute to achieving pivotal goals, making the public employee the first line of defense against this scourge.” Al-Mutawakkil pointed out that the program is a fruit of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, explaining that the Authority is currently focusing on prevention and risk assessment measures.

At the launch, during which participants recited the Fatiha (the opening chapter of the Quran) in remembrance of the martyrs of the Change and Reconstruction Government, and which was attended by Anti-Corruption Authority member, Engineer Harith Al-Amri, the Head of the Authority’s Media, Awareness, and Education Department, Adel Al-Aqbi, presented the awareness program document. This document included the program’s objectives, the legal framework for partnership in combating corruption, and other program components.

Officials participating in the launch, which was also attended by the Head of the Authority’s Prevention and Control Department, Dr. Yahya Al-Murani, offered insightful comments and suggestions aimed at ensuring the program’s success.
