Inspection of the Rehabilitation Work on the Amran-Raydah Road

 

The Secretary-General of the Amran Governorate Local Council, Saleh Al-Makhlous, inspected the progress of the Amran-Raydah road rehabilitation project today. The project is being implemented by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges with support from the local authority and the Road Maintenance Fund.

The project includes the rehabilitation, repair, and construction of a new asphalt layer for the dual carriageway, spanning 20 kilometers, as part of a comprehensive plan to improve the road and bridge infrastructure in the governorate.

Al-Makhlous received a briefing from the supervising engineers on the project’s components and the percentage of completion, according to a specific timeline and approved technical specifications.

Al-Makhlous emphasized that these projects reflect the local authority’s commitment to developing the road and bridge network, given its essential role in supporting economic and social development and alleviating traffic congestion in major cities. He pointed out that the maintenance and paving work on main roads and public streets in the governorate’s capital and districts is part of a comprehensive project for maintenance, development, and asphalt repairs. This project aims to alleviate the burden on citizens caused by the damage and financial losses their vehicles suffer due to deteriorated roads and potholes left by rain.

He considered the implementation of the Amran-Raydah road rehabilitation project an important step in improving infrastructure and enhancing basic services. It reflects the local authority’s commitment to prioritizing service projects that directly impact citizens’ lives and support sustainable development efforts in the governorate.

The Secretary-General urged the implementing organization to expedite the project’s completion according to approved specifications and standards, ensuring the road’s sustainability and achieving the desired benefits for citizens. He emphasized the importance of adhering to quality standards, given that the road is a vital artery connecting Amran and Raydah and serving thousands of citizens daily.
