Statement of the Protest Condemning the Crimes of Desecrating Islamic Sanctities

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, who said, “Indeed, it is a noble Qur’an. In a protected book. None touch it except the purified. A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.” And peace and blessings be upon the Master of all Creation, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his pure family, of whom the Lord of Might and Majesty said, “God only desires to remove all impurity from you, O People of the Household, and to purify you completely.” And may God be pleased with his noble Companions from among the Emigrants and the Helpers.
To proceed:
We, in the Ministry of Transport and Public Works and its affiliated bodies and institutions, have come together in this protest to express our strong condemnation and denunciation of the repeated crimes targeting Islamic sanctities, foremost among them the crime of burning our most sacred sanctities: copies of the Holy Qur’an. Let us emphasize the following:
First:
These reprehensible acts constitute a blatant attack on the feelings of more than two billion Muslims worldwide and are an unacceptable provocation of religious sanctities and sacred sites.
Second:
We reaffirm our firm belief in rejecting any infringement upon the Holy Quran or any Islamic sanctities, regardless of the pretexts or justifications.
Third:
We call upon the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to unequivocally condemn these crimes and to take decisive legal action against anyone who dares to insult Islamic religious beliefs and sacred sites.
Fourth:
We urge Arab and Muslim peoples and governments to take effective diplomatic and political measures to protect Islamic sanctities, confront the culture of hatred against Islam and Muslims, activate economic and trade boycotts against all those who support these heinous and atrocious crimes against our Islamic sanctities, and hold marches and demonstrations in all Arab and Muslim countries to condemn and denounce these insults.
Fifth:
This stand embodies Islamic unity in the face of attempts to undermine the sacred values and principles of the nation, and affirms that provoking the feelings of Muslims will not go unanswered. A unified and deterrent response will be taken against anyone who dares to violate Islamic sanctities.
In conclusion: We affirm that our love for the Quran and its sacred values remains steadfast in our hearts, and that we will remain loyal to our religion, defending its sanctity and holy sites with all available means and capabilities. We warn America, Israel, and their allies that repeating these offenses will not make the people of Yemen, the land of faith and wisdom, accustomed to them. Rather, it will breed hatred, resentment, and a hellfire that they will drink at the hands of those with immense power and might.
Say, “Do you await for us anything but one of the two best things? And we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands. So wait; indeed, we are waiting with you.”
And Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. He is the best Protector and the best Helper. Long live a free, dignified, and independent Yemen. Victory to Yemen and to all the free people of the nation.
