Unity Equestrian Championship Concludes in Sana’a

The Unity Show Jumping Championship concluded today in Sana’a. Organized by the Equestrian Academy at the Unity Club of Sana’a as part of the 10th Summer Gathering, the championship coincided with the 36th anniversary of Yemeni National Unity Day (May 22).
The closing ceremony, attended by Finance Minister Abduljabbar Ahmed, Transport and Public Works Minister Mohammed Qahim, Deputy Ministers of Youth and Sports Nabih Nasser and Information Dr. Omar Al-Bakhiti, and Secretary-General of the Capital Governorate and President of the Unity Club Amin Jumaan, featured the final round of the championship in the senior category.
Five riders competed in five rounds, each riding a different horse. The final races resulted in Elias Al-Khamisi from Jalab Stables winning the title, with his teammate Hussein Al-Qumli finishing as runner-up, and Suhail Al-Ariqi from Al-Wahda Academy taking third place. Ayham Al-Halali from Haraz Cafe came in fourth, followed by Ahmed Al-Banna from Al-Wahda Academy in fifth.
At the conclusion of the championship, the winners in the various groups and categories were honored with trophies and medals. The Minister of Finance and the Deputy Minister of Youth were also presented with shields from the Equestrian Academy at Al-Wahda Club in Sana’a, along with prominent figures and leaders in equestrian sports.
The ceremony was attended by Yahya Atifa, Chairman of the Cement Corporation; Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee of the Sana’a Municipality; Mohammed Amer and Jamil Al-Duais, Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Finance and Youth (for the Sports Sector); Ali Hadban, Head of the Tax and Customs Authority; Adnan Al-Ghafari; Ali Al-Khatib; Hussein Al-Kholani and Dr. Jaber Al-Bawab, Assistant Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Youth; and other administrative, youth, and sports leaders.
