The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights Condemns Yemenia’s Decision Not to Accept Outgoing Air Tickets

The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights condemned the decision of the Yemenia Airlines management in Aden to not accept air tickets issued from the capital, Sana’a.
The Ministry explained, in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the arbitrary action taken by the so-called “Yemena Airlines management in Aden” by not accepting or modifying air tickets issued from Sana’a constitutes a grave violation of the basic rights of Yemenis to travel and movement, and contravenes the most basic principles of human justice and the laws regulating air transport.
The Ministry indicated that this decision deepens the suffering of thousands of citizens, especially patients who need to travel for treatment, those stranded abroad, and pilgrims affected by the suspension of flights from Sana’a Airport after it was targeted.
The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights affirmed that Yemenia Airlines belongs to the entire Yemeni people, and politicizing its services constitutes a grave violation of the principle of public service neutrality.
It called on the international community and all human rights and legal bodies to pressure the aggression coalition and its mercenaries to halt this arbitrary measure and maintain the provision of services to all Yemeni citizens without discrimination.
It held the parties behind this decision fully legally responsible for the humanitarian repercussions resulting from this decision, which violates local and international laws.
The Ministry considered the continuation of retaliatory policies a flagrant violation of the rights of the Yemeni people, stressing that it will utilize all local and international legal mechanisms to guarantee the rights of Yemeni citizens.
