Discussion of the activity of shipping companies operating in the port of Hodeidah

A meeting in Sana’a that included the Ministers of Finance Abdul Jabbar Ahmed Mohammed, Economy, Industry and Investment Eng. Moeen Al-Mahaqri, Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim, and representatives of shipping companies, discussed the activity of shipping companies operating in the port of Hodeidah, according to the mechanisms approved between the companies and the management of the Red Sea Ports Corporation.
The meeting, which was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation Zaid Al-Washli, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for the Economic Units Sector Dr. Akram Al-Washli, and the Vice Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Corporation Nasr Al-Nusairi, reviewed the efforts made during the past period in communication and coordination through the shipping chamber to facilitate work and simplify procedures.
He touched on the difficulties facing shipping companies during inspection procedures in the State of Djibouti and the impact of this in delaying the arrival of ships and increasing costs.
The meeting stressed the importance of working as a team to contribute to the smooth entry of ships into the port of Hodeidah and the speed of unloading their goods, reducing time and effort and contributing to receiving the largest amount of goods.
Ministers Abdul Jabbar, Al-Mahaqri and Qahim praised the performance of shipping companies, their interaction and commitment to the controls regulating work with relevant government agencies.
They stressed the keenness to overcome all difficulties and solve problems affecting the work of shipping companies and develop integrated visions to improve the services provided to ensure the achievement of common goals by shortening time and effort and smoothing the arrival of ships.
The meeting also approved the formation of a team for permanent communication with shipping companies to solve problems as soon as possible in cooperation and coordination between all relevant parties.
