Joint cooperation in postal services and electronic collection of land transport services

A meeting in Sana’a discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs and the Public Authority for Postal Savings regarding postal services “parcel transport” and electronic collection of land transport services.
The meeting, which included the head of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs Walid Al-Wadai and the Director General of the General Postal Savings Authority Ammar Whan, reviewed the mechanism of enhancing cooperation and partnership between the two authorities in implementing vital projects of importance in the field of land transport, including the vital project for the transport truck parking in Al-Hodeidah Governorate.
It was agreed to form a legal team between the two sides to determine the type of partnership and the speed of decision on the heavy transport truck project, so that its implementation could start during the current year, according to what was planned.
The head of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs stressed the importance of joint cooperation between the Land Transport and Postal Savings Authority in crystallizing a number of important service projects related to the regulation of postal services “parcel transport” in a way that contributes to developing and improving performance to reach more distinguished and accurate stages in providing this service.
He referred to the projects of the Land Transport Authority and the automation of the electronic collection process and the role of the General Postal Savings Authority in the success of this step, through which it seeks to develop and modernize the electronic collection mechanism for land transport services in general, by activating the process of collecting transport fees through the “e-riyal” mail application.
The meeting was attended by a number of specialists from the Land Transport and Postal Savings Authority.
