Launching work on the rehabilitation of Taiz International Airport

Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Amin Al-Masawa, launched work on the rehabilitation of Taiz International Airport.
At the inauguration, which was attended by the Undersecretaries of the Governorate, Muhammad Abdullah Othman and Taha Hammam, and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation Authority for the Airports Sector, Yahya Al-Kahlani, the Acting Governor explained that the rehabilitation of Taiz Airport translates the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, and the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council to pay attention to rehabilitating the Republic’s airports and re-operating them. .
He pointed out the start of assessing the damage caused to the airport as a result of the aggression nine years ago and working to repair it… stressing that Taiz Airport will receive domestic flights after completing its preparation and facilities in the reception and departure halls.
Al-Masawa also confirmed that the local authority will work with the General Authority of Civil Aviation to make the necessary arrangements to operate the airport to the fullest extent. He considered this an important step for the people of Taiz Governorate, which will work to alleviate their suffering from the hardship of traveling from neighboring airports, especially since Taiz Airport serves half of Yemen’s population in its place.

In turn, Director General of the Airport, Nabil Shamsan, confirmed the launch of the rehabilitation of Taiz Airport, according to the directives of the Revolutionary Leadership, the Supreme Political Council, the governorate leadership, and the General Aviation Authority, by preparing an integrated study on the damage to the airport, including the runway, the marina, the extent and readiness, in addition to preparing and equipping the departure and arrival hall.
The inauguration was attended by the Directors of Airport Engineering, Ali Al-Raqas, the Human Rights Office, Abdo Al-Bahr, the Public Works Office, Faisal Mishal, the General Corporation for Roads, Mohammed Al-Sami, and the Oil Company, Zaki Suleiman.
