Meteorology calls for avoiding floods and valleys

The National Center of Meteorology called on citizens and drivers of vehicles in the mountainous heights and the interior plateaus not to be in torrents and valleys during the rains during the next 24 hours.
And the center expected in its bulletin , scattered rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunder sometimes on the mountainous range of highlands from Saada in the north to Taiz and Lahj in the south.
He pointed to the possibility of rain extending to parts of the interior hills of the governorates of Lahj, Al-Bayda and Shabwa during the afternoon and evening periods, and it might include parts of the western coasts, the Tihama Plain and the interior areas adjacent to it.
The center also expected the presence of light dust plankton on parts of the mountainous, desert and coastal plains areas, as well as water mist and fog on parts of the western mountain slopes.
The center warned motorists on desert roads, internal hills, and mountain roads to avoid low horizontal visibility due to the presence of dirt plankton, water mist, fog and low clouds.
The center stated that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours amounted to 2.4 mm in some weather monitoring stations in Ibb, Amran: 0.2, pointing out that scattered rain fell outside the scope of the weather monitoring stations.
