Signing of a cooperation agreement between the Aviation Authority and the Roads Institution to implement projects in the field of air transport

A meeting at the Ministry of Transport today, headed by the Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, discussed joint projects between the Civil Aviation Authority and the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges in the field of air transport, which are planned to be implemented during the coming period.
The meeting, which included the Minister of Transport in the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durrah, the Undersecretary for the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, the heads of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qadir, the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Hadrami, and the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation Authority, Raed Jabal, reviewed the mechanism for implementing the strategic projects of the Aviation Authority. Civil, meteorological and various sectors that will be implemented by the Roads Corporation to develop the air transport infrastructure.
At the meeting, Dr. Maqbouli stressed the importance of land, sea and air transport services in meeting the humanitarian needs of the Yemeni people.
He pointed to the interest of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council in service projects for the transportation sector, given the importance of this sector in economic development.
For his part, the Minister of Transport touched on the most important projects that need support in order to be implemented, indicating that the transport sector implemented projects in the field of air, land and sea transport during the last period with self-financing.
He explained that the next stage requires everyone to cooperate to support strategic projects in the various transportation sectors.
In addition, the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority and the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges signed a joint cooperation agreement to improve and develop the authority’s infrastructure and its various sectors in the presence of the Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs and the Minister of Transport.
The agreement signed by the Chairman of the Aviation Authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qadir, and the General Authority for Roads, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Hadrami, included the institution implementing projects of importance in the airport sector, most notably Sana’a International Airport, in accordance with international specifications and requirements.
Maqbouli stressed the importance of the agreement in embodying cooperation between the Authority and the Corporation in the field of construction and infrastructure development.
Minister Al-Durra indicated that the agreement will contribute to developing the infrastructure of Sana’a International Airport, which is preparing to receive all civil flights and multiple destinations during the coming period.
