Dhamar: Joint Campaign Launched to Regulate Streets and Eliminate Traffic Congestion Causes

The Dhamar Governorate Traffic Police Department, in cooperation with the Public Works Sector and the local branch of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs, launched a joint campaign today to regulate streets and eliminate traffic congestion causes in Dhamar city.
The ten-day campaign targets main streets and traffic bottlenecks, focusing on addressing violations related to haphazard vehicle parking, especially in markets and vital locations with high traffic density.
At the launch, the governorate’s Traffic Police Director, Colonel Mohammed Qasila, emphasized the importance of the campaign in regulating streets and reducing congestion.
He pointed out that the campaign comes within the framework of strengthening institutional partnerships between official bodies and the private sector, which contributes to improving the level of traffic services. Colonel Qasila explained that the campaign focuses on raising public awareness about the importance of adhering to proper parking rules, particularly parallel parking, as it is an effective solution for reducing traffic congestion, in addition to its role in promoting traffic discipline among drivers.
For his part, Ibrahim Al-Banous, Director of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority branch in the governorate, considered the campaign an important step to enhance the flow of traffic on main and secondary roads and facilitate the movement of citizens and vehicles.
He pointed to the important role of traffic officers in implementing the campaign, along with community cooperation, stressing that adhering to parallel parking contributes to reducing congestion and ensuring smooth traffic flow.
In turn, the Deputy Director of the Public Works Office in Dhamar, Engineer Wasim Al-Khiwani, stated that the campaign reflects the level of coordination and integration among the relevant authorities and contributes to organizing the streets and reducing traffic congestion, especially around markets and public and private facilities. The Public Works Office affirmed its commitment to supporting traffic management efforts by removing obstacles and violations that impede traffic flow and working to improve street infrastructure to ensure smoother movement for both vehicles and pedestrians.
