Deputy Minister of Transport stresses the importance of focusing on strategic projects in the field of land transport

 

Deputy Minister of Transport, Mohammed Al-Hashemi, stressed the importance of focusing on strategic projects in the field of land transport to advance this sector.

At the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, Al-Hashemi urged the authority’s leadership to pay attention to priority projects in addition to the projects included in the authority’s plan for the year 1444 AH, thus contributing to a qualitative leap in the field of land transport and alleviating the suffering of the citizen.

“The matrix of strategic and investment projects in the field of land transport is of paramount importance for the development of the national economy and meeting the needs of the citizen,” he said.

Al-Hashemi  referred to the leadership’s aspirations to have advanced services and modern projects in land transport and the possibility of implementing models of them in the capital, Sana’a, praising the initiation of electronic collection steps to upgrade the service level and avoid random collection.

He pointed out that the development plans for land transport projects are being implemented in stages, as they are strategic and investment projects that include dry ports in the vicinity of Amanat Al-Asimah and Sana’a Governorate to organize transport and reduce congestion.

While the head of the authority, Walid Al-Wadai, confirmed that the authority is working on regulating land transport in coordination with the relevant authorities to benefit from technology and information technology.

The meeting discussed the projects that were implemented during the last period, which were included in the national vision, funded by the Land Transport Authority, and the technical and professional achievements that were achieved in the areas of training, rehabilitation and institutional building.
