In numbers, losses are from a number of countries .. IATA: Airlines in the region are bleeding

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said Thursday that governments should consider urgently providing assistance to airlines in the Middle East to help them cope with the liquidity crisis caused by the outbreak of the Corona virus.

Mohamed Al Bakry, IATA Vice President for Africa and the Middle East, said that airlines in the Middle East are facing increasing revenue losses because people stop traveling.

IATA Vice President added that as of March 11, airlines in the Middle East had lost revenue of $ 7.2 billion, explaining that since last January 16,000 flights of passengers in the Middle East had been canceled.

He pointed out that the low fuel costs are helping airlines, but it is not enough to compensate for the losses of the Corona virus, pointing out that companies in the Middle East have stopped the flight of a large number of their planes.

Here is a list of expected losses in a number of Arab countries, according to IATA:
SAUDI ARABIA : It could lose 16 million passengers and $ 3.1 billion in core revenue and over 140,000 airline jobs are threatened by Corona.

UAE : 13.6 million passengers and basic revenue of $ 2.8 billion may be lost, and 163,000 airline jobs are threatened by Corona.

Egypt: Corona virus may result in 6.3 million passengers not traveling, losing about $ 1 billion in basic revenue and threatening 138,000 jobs.
