A meeting in Sana’a discusses the project to automate the work of the General Secretariat of the Prime Ministry

 

A meeting in Sana’a, which included the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Misfer Al-Numeir, and the Secretary General of the Prime Minister, Muhammad al-Kibsi, discussed the project to automate the work of the Council of Ministers and the General Secretariat of the Council’s presidency.

In the meeting, Minister Al-Numair stressed that the Ministry of Communications attaches special importance to the project of automating ministries and government agencies in order to achieve networking and ensure the reliable, secure and smooth flow and storage of data.

He referred to the procedures through which automation projects must be implemented to achieve the objectives of government agencies, indicating that the ministry undertakes supervision and follow-up operations to benefit from information technology and set appropriate standards for it.

Minister Al-Numeir pointed to the importance of the project of automating the work of the Council of Ministers and the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council, pointing out that the implementation of the project requires the preparation of a time plan to reach real results that meet the needs.

He touched on the shortcomings in the performance of automation committees in ministries and government agencies that work without coordination with the Ministry of Communications to prepare technical specifications for automation projects in accordance with the best standards and specifications.

Minister Al-Numair also stressed the importance of following unified standards for analyzing operations, setting technical specifications, implementing contracts for automation projects, and providing information technology equipment and systems, pointing out that the e-government project is supposed to be preceded by digital transformation and automation within standardized templates and standards to see the light

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers stressed the keenness to implement the automation project, considering the Prime Ministry a main gateway to work in the ministries.

He explained that the General Secretariat of the Prime Ministry is counting on the Ministry of Communications to achieve a successful experience of the automation project, which will have an impact on the quality of data and the techniques for benefiting from it in the rest of the state institutions.

The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Public Telecommunications Corporation, Engineer Sadiq Muhammad Musleh, and his deputy for technical affairs, Engineer Muhammad Al-Mahdi.
