A workshop discussing the report on the implementation of the executive work plan at the Civil Aviation Authority

A workshop in Sana’a discussed the report on the implementation of the executive work plan for the past year 2021, which is emanating from the strategic plan of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology 2021-2025.

The workshop, in the presence of the Authority’s deputy, Raed Jabal, and the assistant undersecretaries of the various sectors of the authority and general managers of the authority and sectors, aimed to develop infrastructure and technical and airport readiness, enhance the accuracy of navigation and meteorological services, enhance air safety and control in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization, and improve the work environment for the authority and various sectors.

The workshop focused on the achievements implemented by the General Civil Aviation Authority and the difficulties encountered in the executive work plan for the past year, as well as discussing and evaluating the authority’s strategic plan 2021-2025 in line with the national vision to develop and modernize the work of the authority.

The head of the authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahman Abdul Qadir, stressed the keenness to evaluate the performance of the authority and its sectors and the successes achieved during the past year for the development and modernization of the field of civil aviation.

He pointed out the importance of the workshop to face the difficulties resulting from the current situation, indicating that the executive plan aims to modernize and develop the work of the authority in accordance with the international requirements and conditions that emerged from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Meteorological Organization.

And he indicated that the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology has close links with international organizations, most notably the International Civil Aviation Organization and the World Meteorological Organization, stressing that the authority’s executive work plan took into account the strategies of the two international aviation and meteorological organizations and absorbed them within the strategic plan, linking and aligning them to be consistent and commensurate with international conditions.

Abdul Qader explained that the authority is working to develop and enhance air safety in Yemen, the accuracy of navigation and meteorological services, keeping pace with the standards of the International Aviation Organization (ICAO), and improving the infrastructure and readiness of international airports.

In turn, the Director of Strategic Planning and Quality in the Authority, Hashem Abdel Qader, reviewed the general performance of the implementation of the work plan in the sectors and general departments of the Authority and the difficulties and work to address them, in a way that contributes to the development of the work of the Authority locally and internationally.

The workshop came out with a number of recommendations aimed at developing the authority and its various sectors and solving the difficulties that faced the executive work plan of the civil aviation authority and its sectors in accordance with international standards and requirements in the field of civil aviation and meteorology.
