Aerial medical bridge … The bullet that killed the patients twice

Thousands of patients in Yemen lost hope to obtain their right to treatment outside the country after the failure of the medical medical bridge launched by the United Nations earlier this month from Sana’a International Airport to Egypt and Jordan.

More than three years of arbitrary closure of the Sanaa International Airport by the aggression, the lives of thousands of patients who need medical care outside the country have been threatened by the lack of access to treatment at home due to the suffocating siege imposed by the aggression and the acute shortage of modern equipment, medical supplies and medicines.

Such a bridge is a spark of hope that has breathed life into the hearts of patients, of whom 20 to 30 cases per day die, according to the Ministry of Public Health and Population, but their hopes were quickly dissipated and their suffering worsened as flights faltered for unknown reasons, and it appears that the aggression countries did not allow more than what was conducted Of those trips that brought with it 30 cases of sickness and the media took advantage of them to mislead the international community and the world in their response to open the Sanaa airport in front of humanitarian cases, but it was only another lie.

Many patients called the medical medical airlift “the New Year’s Lie”, which compounded their poor health and caused their mental states to deteriorate.

The patients met by the Yemeni news agency Saba indicated that it is recognized that the air bridge includes a large number of flights arriving and departing without interruption until achieving the full goals for which it was established, but that what happened in the medical bridge through Sanaa airport was that it was sufficient with two flights It aimed to increase the suffering of patients.

The patients affirmed that the aggression seeks to kill them twice through this imaginary bridge and to create repeated obstacles that indicate that the international community has no intention to end the suffering of the Yemenis.

For its part, the Ministry of Public Health and Population stated that the World Health Organization violated what was agreed upon regarding the mechanism for transporting patients, and expressed surprise at the organization’s letter containing changes in the arrangements for the medical bridge.

And considered that this totally violates the requirements for medical evacuation cases, indicating that the number of patients waiting to travel to receive treatment abroad reaches more than 32 thousand, which puts the lives of many of them at risk of death.

While the spokesperson for the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Dr. Mazen Ghanem, confirmed that the United Nations has not developed a plan to transfer the remaining 32,000 registered patients, indicating that there are approximately 300,000 patients awaiting the start of flights.

He pointed out that the inauguration of the medical airlift was unfair to the truth, an excuse for ashes on the eyes, regardless of the suffering of thousands of patients, and a clear evasion from the United Nations and the World Health Organization in fulfilling its pledges.
Ghanem considered the two-flight route as a bullet of death, not of mercy, and said, “We were waiting for a series of continuous flights to achieve the concept of the air bridge, but we were surprised by the request to transport only 30 patients and therefore they fired the death bullet instead of the alleged mercy of the sick.”
He added, “We need 13 years to transfer 32,000 patients registered in the Ministry of Health statements in the event that the mechanism of transporting seven patients is approved in each trip.”

What remains of the farce of the United Nations and its health organization, in coordination with the aggression countries, is clear evidence of the extent of the manipulation and trafficking of Yemeni lives.
