Al-Durra: Ministry of Transport, its agencies were able to improve infrastructure, its technical & professional capabilities

Minister of Transport in the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, confirmed that the ministry and its bodies and institutions were able to improve the infrastructure and its technical and professional capabilities.

Minister Al-Durra indicated during the periodic meeting of the Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority that the authority had overcome the difficulties through which the aggression attempted to paralyze its movement, since the beginning of the aggression and the siege imposed on the Yemeni people.

He pointed out the implementation of many important projects in all the Authority’s various sectors, with self-financing, to provide local and international services in the field of civil aviation.

Al-Durra criticized the negative role of the United Nations and international organizations working in Yemen with regard to the projects that they committed to implementing in the various transportation sectors, and their limitation to implementing projects for some Yemeni airports and ports, which were not subjected to bombing and destruction.

He explained that most of the Civil Aviation Authority’s projects at Sana’a International Airport, meteorology, air navigation, and aviation safety and security were implemented with Yemeni efforts and expertise in the field of civil aviation, by taking advantage of information technology technology to secure ground services for air navigation.

While the Chairman of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdel Qader, indicated that the Authority is currently working on preparing plans and technical studies to develop and modernize services in the field of civil aviation and meteorology.

Training, qualification, and developing the capabilities of the Authority’s cadres and its various sectors were considered priorities for future plans, in addition to important projects at Sanaa, Taiz, and Hodeidah International Airports.
