Al-Ruwaishan stresses implementation of President’s directives related to preserving Sana’a Airport campus

Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs, Chairman of the Main Committee for Preserving the Lands and Campus of Sana’a Airport, Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, stressed the need to implement the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council on the ground.

During the meeting of the committee , in the presence of Ministers of Transport Abdel-Wahab Al-Durra and Minister of Public Works Ghaleb Mutlaq, Deputy Minister of Justice Dr. Ismail Al-Wazir and Assistant Minister of Defense Major General Ali Al-Kahlani, and the heads of the Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Mohammed Abdel-Qader, and the Land, Survey and Urban Planning Authority, Dr. Hashem Al-Shami, stressed the importance of implementing the Sana’a airport wall project and paving the border streets. to the airport campus in the coming days.

He said, “The directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council are clear and serve the national interest, since Sana’a Airport is the front of the country and serves all segments of Yemeni society.

Work in it requires the cooperation of the relevant authorities with the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority.”
Lieutenant General Al-Ruwaishan pointed out the need to work professionally and develop effective solutions that contribute to speeding up the implementation process in the field, and directed the Ministry of Transport, represented by the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority, in cooperation with the Military Works, to expedite the implementation of the airport wall project and the construction of border streets.

He considered the implementation of studies and plans and their translation into reality a positive step in the right path to preserve the territory of the Sana’a International Airport campus and stop any future developments.

He urged the sub-committees to quickly start their work according to the reports submitted, each in their field of competence, with the cooperation of all relevant authorities, in accordance with the proposals and solutions submitted to the main committee to achieve the goals that would facilitate the implementation of strategic projects for Sana’a Airport.

He pointed out that Sana’a Airport represents the interface of the Republic of Yemen, and its strategic and expansion projects gain importance locally and internationally through keeping up and developing in accordance with international conditions and standards emanating from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

For his part, the Minister of Transport, Vice-Chairman of the Main Committee, reviewed the results of the visit to the lands and campus of Sana’a Airport during the past week.. indicating that the visit achieved good results in knowing the main points that must be intervened in and working to solve them as soon as possible to reduce the indiscriminate developments and construction.

 

He stressed the importance of starting work on the implementation of the wall of Sana’a Airport and the construction of border streets for the airport campus, pointing to the need to implement the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council in the field with the participation of all relevant authorities, especially in light of the studies and plans prepared by the Land Authority

In turn, the Minister of Public Works and Roads affirmed the ministry’s readiness to provide all facilities, requirements and equipment for the implementation of projects that contribute to preserving the lands and campus of the airport. He pointed to the need to sense responsibility by the relevant authorities to produce tangible results that contribute to the implementation of strategic projects for Sana’a Airport.

While the head of the General Authority for Lands affirmed the readiness of the engineering plans, their implementation on the ground, and the commencement of work with the cooperation of all relevant authorities.

In turn, the head of the Civil Aviation Authority indicated that the projects of Sana’a Airport are of importance in accordance with international conditions and standards, stressing the need for cooperation by everyone to facilitate the implementation of expansion projects.

After the meeting, the Ministry of Transport, represented by the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority and the Military Works Department, signed a contract for the implementation of the Sana’a airport wall project and the construction of border streets for the airport campus, according to the engineering plans.

The meeting approved the start of the implementation of the Sana’a airport wall project, the construction of the border streets of the airport campus, and the procedural steps for implementation.

The meeting, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Municipality’s Local Council, Amin Jamaan, the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Transport Abdullah Al-Ansi and Works Eng. Khaled Bashmakh, the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation Authority, Raed Jabal, the director of Sana’a Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, and security and military leaders, reviewed the results of the assignment of the main committee at its fourth meeting to the stakeholders in the Civil Aviation and Land Authority, in addition to Approving the final plans for the Sana’a airport campus.
