Al-Wahbani stresses the importance of expanding and developing Taiz International Airport

A member of the Supreme Political Council, Jaber Al-Wahbani, stressed the importance of preserving the lands and campuses of the republic’s airports, and developing community awareness of their importance in providing humanitarian services and air navigation.

Al-Wahbani pointed out, in a meeting at the Ministry of Transport today, in the presence of the deputy head of the Shura Council, Abdo Al-Jundi, to the interest and keenness of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in rehabilitating and developing Taiz International Airport due to its strategic importance in providing its services in a way that meets the needs of citizens in Taiz Governorate and the densely populated governorates benefiting from the airport.

He urged the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority, and the Land, Survey and Urban Planning Authority to redouble efforts to activate and maintain work at the airport.

While the Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs, Mahmoud Al-Junaid, praised the efforts of the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority to preserve the lands and campus of Taiz Airport, and the adoption of a plan to expand and develop the airport and rehabilitate it as a result of the bombing it was subjected to by the aggression’s warplanes.

He stressed the need to cooperate and work as a team with the local authority and the relevant authorities for the speedy completion of the implementation of the Taiz International Airport fence project.

In turn, the Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, stressed the importance of Taiz Airport at the local and international levels, based on its vital function that serves a large population density.

He pointed out that the Civil Aviation Authority is seeking, within its plans, to rehabilitate the airports of Taiz and Hodeidah in accordance with international requirements and conditions and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

For his part, the head of the General Authority for Lands and Urban Planning, Hashim Al-Shami, affirmed readiness to provide all services that contribute in a way to preserving the lands and campus of Taiz International Airport and its rehabilitation.

The meeting, which included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation Authority, Raed Jabal, the Director of the Airports Sector in the Authority, Amin Jamaan, and the Director of the Taiz Airport Project, Eng. other.
